      A. Why can’t mosquito transmit HIV:
      1. When mosquitoes are biting, they inject saliva into humans and take some blood. There is no contact between blood from a mosquito and that of a human( no transmission).
      2. When a mosquito ingests HIV infected blood, its digested and broken down in the gut.

      @786bmay26.

      Question 1: Why cant a mosquito transmit HIV?

      I agree with the two reasons given by @Peter Macharia. The third reason is, HIV virus circulates in human blood at a much lower level than would be required to create a new infection via a mosquito bite.

      Question 2: Why the moon keeps changing its shape

      I would like to clarify that the moon doesn’t change its shape at all. As the moon orbits around the earth and at the same time the earth revolves around the sun, the different parts of the moon are lit by the sun making the moon appear as if its shape is changing.

      Hello! The first two questions have been already answered by my colleagues Peter and Jonathan, so I will tackle the answers from 3 onward! 🙂
      3. What causes electric blackout? There are many many causes of power failures… and just about all of them are as a result of either electrical or technical issues in an electricity network. A blackout can happen if there is poor maintenance or damage to the electric transmission lines, short circuiting, a broken fuse, etc. etc.
      4. I’m not sure that deforestation directly impacts the ozone layer? as far as I know, the ozone layer is primarily compromised by man-made chemicals (organohalogens etc) that break down the ozone layer. One result of deforestation is that it can lead to an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which isn’t good (plants use up carbon dioxide, so deforestation leads to an increase in carbon dioxide).
      5. HepB can be transmitted through exchange of bodily fluids, therefore yes, it can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. Other modes of transmission include sharing needles/ other drug-handling equipment; or from mother to baby at birth.
      6. There are lots of reasons why people forget things, and these reasons can range from just being overwhelmed, being distracted when you’re learning new information, to having a neurodegenerative disease that impacts memory. According to psychologists, memory can be divided into three primary pieces: encoding, storage, and retrieval, so there can be issues in all three stages! If you are interested in learning more, there’s lots of fascinating research being done in neuroscience/psychology!
