• Question: how do you determine the contours when making maps?

      Hi @Joan G, This is a good question, I have done a production of contours for quite some time.

      Contours will show areas with the same elevation. So if an area has elevation changing drastically I will use fine distances while if an area has almost the same elevation I use course distances. The contours will help engineers and planners when designing and executing projections or even a mountain climber to know which area is steeper than the other
