A pathologist does a post mortem by examining the body either internally, externally or both just like surgery.
The pathologist then performs an incision to open up the body and observe the inner organs. The incision can be in the head or abdomen etc. Organs are observed to look for any abnormalities such as blood clots or tumours. Organs may be taken for further investigations
