      Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms like bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa. It describes how the these organisms grow, reproduce and there association with the environment, plants and animals. Its an important discipline as most of these organisms cause serious diseases like malaria, HIV among others. When you understand them fully, you can devise ways of either preventing there spread, eradicating them or treating the infected. However there are beneficial microorganisms e.g Yeast used in baking industry, bacteria used to fix nitrogen to plants among others

      It is the study of microbes. There are sooo many of them on this earth!According to this study, there are more microbial species than stars in the galaxy!
