Stress is our body’s response to threats, be they emotional or physical. In emergencies sometimes it can help you respond quickly. However, in most daily life, stress is a result of overwhelming life circumstances, and work or life pressures.

One approach to dealing with stress is to make sure that you have a way to rest and “recalibrate” your body so that it is not under pressure all the time. Things that can help range from: remembering to take a deep breath when you feel your shoulders tensing up, or if one is religious, saying a quick prayer or a bible verse to taking a few days off from work/school to rest. Other ways include: exercising and making sure to eat properly thus allowing your body to be as healthy as it can be, connecting with friends & family who make you happy, among others.

Unfortunately, if one is under chronic stress, this can manifest in physical illness so it is super important to learn how to manage stress!
