  an alien is a word to describe “belonging to a foreign country or nation”.
  
  This word is used in all sorts of contexts: if you hear it in the news it’s usually to refer to people from another country/part of the world. If you hear it in the context of science fiction, it usually refers to non human creatures from other planets (none have ever been found, but people often imagine what other living organisms from other planets might look like)
