      I think you need to read science books, understand previous projects and see on how you can improve them, OR see a problem in society and try to solve it, eg a localized windmill in a village without power

      In order to innovate, one has to come up with a new way to answer/fix an existing problem.
      But before that, you have to verify that your way is actually “new”. In order to do that, first it is super duper important to have a decent grasp of what other people have done and how far they have addressed the problem that you want to solve.
